About me
I'm a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the British Columbia College of Social Workers and a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
I hold a Master of Social Work with a specialization in Social Justice and Diversity and have spent more than 15 years working in healthcare and community settings, supporting children, youth, adults, and families. I have advanced and ongoing training in somatic therapy, an approach that considers the ways our bodies store and process difficult experiences.
As a queer and non-binary practitioner, I am deeply committed to supporting those who have not historically found safe and competent care within health and healing spaces. As a person of white settler ancestry, I am equally committed to the personal work of lifelong learning, humility, and practice informed by the ways in which systems of power and oppression intersect with our individual and collective well-being.
I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful therapy work. You should feel able to bring your full self into the room—including the parts that feel messy, uncertain, contradictory, or difficult to put into words.
I don't see myself as the expert on you.
You bring your lived experience and your knowledge of yourself. I bring my training, experience, and, most importantly, a keen sense of humility and curiosity. We then work together to figure out an approach that is helpful for you.
